Developed through an exclusive partnership between Solar Security, LLC, and Teledyne FLIR, LLC. The RASS is purposely designed for BESS yards and critical infrastructure. The RASS uses science-grade thermal imaging cameras, industrial housings and relays, and advanced logic and AI software to reliably detect fires early while eliminating false alarms.
Solar Security offers two solutions for Early Fire Detection: a ship-to-site pre-integrated RASS, or an all-inclusive installation of RASS onsite by the Solar Security team.
The purpose of Early Fire Detection is to detect temperature events very early on – even before fire occurs. If a temperature event is detected, people can be evacuated, machines can be saved, and even the thermal fire could be prevented.
The challenge is to do this reliably without false alarms created by environmental factors. Competitor solutions greatly “de-tune” the sensitivity or require human inspection to address the false alarms. The RASS presents an automated solution that eliminates those nuisance alarms while maintaining the highest degree of sensitivity and detection level.
The RASS also includes a user-friendly web app – runs in the cloud, is easily scalable with other sites, cyber secure with VPN tunnels, and always up to date.
The RASS will automatically shut off the customer’s devices to help prevent damage. Operators can control the devices remotely if it is determined that everything is ok. This avoids downtime and unnecessary trips to the facility.
In addition to Early Fire Detection, the RASS provides O&M teams security cameras with intrusion analytics, and helps predict equipment failure before it happens with useful line graphs.
Weather Toughened
An environmentally enclosed system with internal heating and cooling allows the RASS systems to work nonstop in all weather from -30F to 130F, even in direct sunlight.
Temperature Alarms
When temperature alarms do occur, the RASS will turn off the device in question to help prevent equipment damage. Additionally, the equipment can be restarted remotely to avoid any onsite visits.
Audio & Visual Deterrence
The RASS has a built in flashing lights and speaker to warn of the safety hazard, and can be integrated with Fire Departments and fire alarm systems.

The Ship-To-Site RASS is pre-integrated when it arrives and makes installation and setup a breeze. The full installation from unpacking to completed testing typically takes only a few hours.
